therapy for complex humans

Welcome. Have you been feeling overwhelmed with the demands of your career and relationships? Are you having a hard time getting grounded and finding ease, even when you scrape together a few minutes to sit down? Do you have a complex history that might be impacting your sense of self and your experience in your relationships?

Therapy can help.

I specialize in blending somatic and evidence based therapies to help people who are struggling with their mental health or relationships to find insight into painful patterns and cultivate new feelings of peace. I often work with artists, new parents, and individuals in high stress careers, and I bring a trauma-informed approach to exploring themes of body image and disordered eating.

Somatics and Mindfulness + Relational talk therapy = a recipe for deep healing

I offer a safe space for you to talk through what is going on, and I help you make connections between your present and past so you can better understand why things may be feeling the way they are feeling. Additionally, I guide and support you in engaging in mindfulness-based explorations to deepen your understanding of yourself. In mindfulness we are often able to contact more subtle parts of ourselves. We can contact dreams, longings, memories and body experiences that can be elusive when we’re engaged in regular conversation. We also have opportunities to work directly with the nervous system, which is especially helpful for those of us who experience the effects of complex trauma.

Practical Skills

Sometimes we have a practical question that would benefit from a practical answer. In that case, I offer practical, evidence based strategies from cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapies, two established and evidence based therapies that are specifically geared towards helping people with high anxiety, emotion dysregulation, and relational difficulties.

Together we can slow down and begin to heal.

I came to explore the wreck. / The words are purposes. / The words are maps.
I came to see the damage that was done / and the treasures that prevail.
